On August 5th, 2024, a newborn’s cry,
Yearning for freedom, reaching for the sky,
With blood-red placards on his chest and brow,
In the fiery march, the young will show us how.
Voices raised for dreams of liberation,
A new Bangladesh’s dawn, a grand foundation,
Rangpur’s first martyr, Abu Sayeed,
His sacrifice forever, a name to be freed.
Dhaka’s brilliant student, Mugdho,
Faiyaz and Shohan, their names aglow,
Lawyer Abul Kalam, standing high,
A fearless fighter, his courage cannot die.
Bricklayer Uzzal Hossain, simple and true,
A common worker, fighting for what’s due,
In the battle against disparity, he stands firm,
A symbol of bravery, a societal term.
Their blood paved the path for freedom’s rise,
Hundreds of unknown students, their courage never dies,
Witnesses to the new dawn of liberation,
In Gen-Z’s battle, they forged a new nation.
Heroes of Gen-Z, shaping society’s core,
Breaking the chains of corruption, and more,
In the heart of Bengal, their deeds resonate,
A new sun’s glow, a poetic fate.
The democratic framework, today’s Bangladesh,
Built with the dawn’s blood, and morning’s fresh mesh,
In the dew of a new day, dreams align,
A vision for the future, brightly designed.
Voices of students and people rise,
The final step in the awakening’s ties,
Dreamers of the future, architects bold,
Beginning a new era, a story to be told.
In the light of the new sun’s embrace,
After endless waiting, hope takes its place,
Gen-Z’s inspiration, our guiding ray,
Companions of dawn, lighting the way.
