In the soil of Gaza bloomed little Shelly, a budding rose.
She roamed the floors with her doll in hand,
Her mother’s arms were her world of joy,
Wrapped in a black frock, her small heart sheltered,
As if her delicate face carried the innocence of the world.

She asked her aunt, “Take a picture of me,”
Shelly’s golden mornings passed with a smile,
The sky of Gaza still bore the light of peace,
But everything changed one morning.

Israeli planes descended upon Gaza’s ground,
Flames from bombs engulfed every home,
In her mother’s arms lay Shelly,
Her fragile life silenced in a pool of blood.

Her bruised body lay still on the ground,
Israeli soldiers’ cruelty erased all hope.
This little girl had committed no crime,
Yet her dreams burned in the fires of war.

Aunt Inas clutched Shelly’s beloved frock,
Holding it close to her chest, she wept uncontrollably,
“My Shelly, what wrong had you done?”
On Gaza’s streets, only bloodstains remain.

The cries of children still echo in Palestine,
But Shelly’s laughter is lost in the ruins.
In the silence, the agony of Gaza emerges,
Bullets shatter the hearts of the innocent.

The last moments of little Shelly’s life
Cannot be erased by any words, any time,
The echo of her dance’s jingling bells still haunts,
Those moments captured on a mobile phone,
Now, they are only echoes of memories,
Fading but forever imprinted in our minds.
